“One of the thrusts of Secretary Roy A. Cimatu is for all employees to be proficient of the Department’s programs, projects, services and the different environmental laws and regulations,” says Regional Executive Director Tirso P. Parian, Jr., of the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources in Region VIII.
This was the statement of RED Parian during the Learning Event for DENR employees on Environment Frontline Course as he challenged them to be informed employees so that they can readily respond to queries coming from clients.
“Education is a continuing process,” Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Arturo N. Salazar said.
The learning event is part of a five-track Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Academy crafted and developed to address the training needs of DENR personnel. The ENR Academy is a specialized program designed for DENR employees to get the best transfer of technical knowledge and skill. It aims to equip DENR personnel with a working knowledge of its programs and services. It seeks to hone them to practice responsive, accessible, courteous and effective public service to attain highest level of client satisfaction. After the training, the participants are expected to be able to respond appropriately to and provide timely resolution of simple queries, issues and concerns of clients based on their knowledge of ENR services.
We must show to our clients that we are knowledgeable of the Department’s vision, mission, mandate and its core values. Above all, we must put them to heart and be exemplified in the delivery of our services,” added ARD Salazar.
