Delegates from schools across the country gathered in Ormoc City, Leyte on November 27th for the 7th National Wildlife Quiz Bee.

The activity intends to enhance biodiversity conservation and promote appreciation of the country's biodiversity and wildlife resources especially among students and the younger generation.

The event was made possible through collaboration between the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc., City Government of Ormoc, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region VIII, Department of Education, and the Municipality of Burauen in partnership with the Energy Development Corporation, Foundation for the Philippine Environment, Philippine Eagle Foundation, Philippine Native Tree Enthusiasts Eastern Visayas, Eastern Visayas Tourism Association, NOMAD and various regional and provincial partners.

Wildlife Quiz participants came from several provinces and regions including Apayao, Antique, Cebu, Caraga Region, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao City, Eastern Visayas Region, Lanao del Norte, Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Palawan, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay.

Winners of the 7th National Wildlife Quiz Bee are:

Champion: Negros Occidental High School

1st Runner Up: Holy Infant Academy of Calapan

2nd Runner Up: Colegio San Agustin - Bacolod

3rd Runner Up: Sisters of Mary School - Girlstown Inc.
