To highlight the celebration of the World Bamboo Day, twenty five (25) personnel from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO)-Biliran and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Biliran provincial office planted around thirty (30) pieces of bamboo culms in Brgy. Villaconsuleo, Naval, Biliran.

World Bamboo Day is celebrated on September 18 of every year to spread awareness about the importance and versatile usage of the bamboo species.

In the Philippines, September has been declared as the Philippine Bamboo Month by virtue of Proclamation No.1401 which was signed by President Duterte in 2022.
