CENRO San Juan holds beach tree planting activity for National Climate Change Consciousness Week

A total of 200 Bitoon wildlings were planted along the beach area in Brgy. Pong-oy, San Juan, Southern Leyte as part of CENRO San Juan’s activity in observance of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week. The beach tree planting activity was participated by the barangay officials, Coast guards stationed in that barangay and CENRO San Juan personnel.

The barangay captain expressed his gratefulness to the DENR for the Bitoon wildlings planted in their area which will provide protection to their community in the near future against adverse effects of climate change such as storm surge and flooding.

“Tutulong kami na mabuhay at lumaki ang mga Bitoon wildlings na tinanim dito sa aming barangay,” says Hon.Danilo Getes, Barangay Captain.
