The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Samar in coordination with the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Catbalogan and Samar Island Natural Park (SINP) conducted a Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) to 60 participants at San Isidro Elementary School, Brgy. San Isidro, Paranas, Samar.

Topics on Forestry -related Laws such as Presidential Decree (PD) 705 or the Forestry Code of the Philippines and the Republic Act (RA) 11038 known as the Expanded National Integrated Protected Area System (ENIPAS) Act of 2018 were discussed since the location is enlisted as one of the timber poaching hotspot areas in the region.

The participants of the CEPA were the constituents of Barangay San Isidro, the members of the People Organizations BOSIS and TORPEDO and the teachers of San Isidro Elementary School with the presence of Mr. Ricarte Uy, the HR Manager of Taft Hydro Energy Corporation who delivered the closing remarks of the said activity.
