DENR Region 8 welcomes its new Regional Director, Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo.

In view of Special Order No. 2017-926 signed by Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, Regional Director Barcelo assumed as new RD of DENR refion 8 taking his post from RD Arleigh J. Adorable.

RD Barcelo, a lawyer by profession, started serving DENR in 1986. Prior to his assignment to Region 8, he was the  Assistant Regional Director for Management Services of DENR Cordillera Administrative Region.

In his message, RD Barcelo said he embraces the personnel of DENR 8 as his new family. He also thanked RD Adorable for laying down the region’s roadmap for 2018 through his successful defense of DENR 8’s 2018 work and financial plan. RD Barcelo likewise solicited for full support in working towards the realization of the plan laid by Adorable. He commits to strengthen environmental protection and uphold integrity among DENR 8’s human resource. 

Meanwhile, in view of Special Order No. 2017-927 signed by DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu, RD Adorable is taking his post as Regional Director of DENR Region 10.

RD Adorable expressed gratitude to the women and men of DENR 8 for welcoming him to Eastern Visayas and for the cooperation accorded to him during his short stint as head of DENR Region 8.

The turn-over ceremony was held along with DENR Secretary Cimatu’s visit to Region 8 on November 22, 2017 to personally lay the thrusts and priorities of the Department under his leadership. The event held at the Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office was officiated by Secretary Cimatu.

    Tourists visiting the Cuatro Islas Protected Landscape and Seascape (CIPLS) in Hindang and Inopacan, Leyte is limited to five hundred (500) per day.
